Nokia provides real-time updates of traffic to its mobile users

Nokia adds real-time information to drive traffic application, it is available on the company's Windows and Symbian smartphones.

Nokia phone user find their way in New Delhi and Mumbai now be able to see traffic conditions on your route in advance. The congestion appears in the streets in red and green lines indicate a smooth ride.

The service is powered by NAVTEQ Traffic Pro. According to Nokia, using the probes and the signals from the users of the unit to check the status of traffic on a road. For example, if the traffic on Route A is slow, data from Nokia users stuck in traffic indicate a very low speed. Nokia will use this data to alert other users to drive as the road from A.

Android and iPhone devices also offers maps and management services to its users, but in India are not as extensive as what Nokia have on their phones. Google Navigator, which is similar to Nokia Drive, is not officially in India. It also lacks features like voice navigation and turn by turn real-time updates on traffic.

However, the iPhone and Android users can test drove, a free application that also uses the user data in the form of identifying and locating congestion.

Nokia said the world uses the maps of its 100 million times a day. In India, Nokia Drive covers 750 cities. The company said in the traffic information in real time could be extended to other major cities in the future.
