Nokia Lumia 900 Review

How I marveled at his elegant and stylish touch. How I'm glad you’re tile-based interface and how you brought me updates of my friends and family without having to leave the main screen.

But came less than three weeks after the first Nokia Lumia 900 reviews of, potential buyers need to address the difficult issues that the critics could not have seen it coming.

First came the news that a software error was to avoid phone's data connection to work properly, because any application that requires access to the Internet would not work.

To their credit, Nokia issued a quick fix - and a $ 100 credit to anyone who buys the phone before Sunday. But Nokia was not fast enough to stop an unfortunate marketing campaign proclaiming that "the smartphone beta testing is over." Not really.

Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia Lumia 900 later learned that  probably will not be upgraded to the next version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8, when it becomes available this fall. There is much to like in the current version, Windows Phone 7, but by that time next year there will be a museum piece.

A data connection is clumsy and upgrade path, probably died within a few months. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how about the new smartphone?

Too bad, because the highly anticipated Nokia re-entry into the U.S. smart phone market began with the promise.

First, the industrial design right. Smart phones from other companies like Apple tend to feel cheap and plastic, but 900 is fixed to the touch. The 4.3-inch high-resolution lacks the iPhone 4S, but I've been using Windows Phone beautiful.
Not as many apps

Then it's own Windows Phone, an operating system that strives to make the phone more effectively. Connect a Facebook account, for example, and you can "fix" profile someone in your home screen as a pawn - a great way to keep track of a close friend or loved one, updated the post.

Windows Phone application is not nearly as much as its competitors, but Microsoft puts them in a fast pace. Applications for Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare to all the great advantages of tile-based interface.

It also has a set of programs that you cannot find anywhere else: Microsoft Office Productivity Center, which pays the bills. Office for Windows Phone you can create and edit Office documents and save them in the cloud, a nice touch that will benefit all who rely on the program.

It is true that an advanced user would not be happy with the options of various applications. But for most casual users of social media and mobile games, Windows Phone an attractive system.

Despite its drawbacks, it seems Nokia Lumia 900 and sells well. The phone is sold in some places, including some AT & T stores and on Amazon.
Interestingly, the system it is an encouraging sign. Millions of Americans are taking a chance on a promising new operating system that could eventually challenge the primacy of IOS and Android. Along the way, Microsoft can have a real innovation in the market, and ensure that their competitors do not have peace.

In the meantime, however, is difficult to recommend a phone that was so hard out of the door. It's probably nothing in a Windows phone that will not get better in six months. And given the disappointing uptake of Lumia, smart buyers of new Windows Phone is better to wait.

Nokia Lumia 900 wants more sales

Nokia attempt to challenge the dominance of Apple's iPhone and Google Android has failed to convince the telecom operators in Europe, depriving it of powerful allies in their struggle to regain the top spot in the mobile market.

Four major telecom operators in Europe, where phones have been on sale since before Christmas, told Reuters that the new Nokia Lumia 900 smartphones was not good enough to compete with the Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phones.

Nokia is now facing a fight for the important U.S. market, where the old domain has been reduced to 1 percent of the smartphone market. AT & T does not sell Nokia Lumia 900 for two weeks and it says at the beginning of the demand has been strong.

Skeptics say that among the operators smooth, neon phones are expensive so that it is an innovative product, citing a lack of marketing budget put behind phones and pictures of the problems caused by battery failure and software of the first models.

Nokia's big bet a year ago to put the Microsoft Windows Phone software on their smartphones is far from certain to pay, said traders.

"No one enters the store and ask for a Windows phone," says a manager who is responsible for mobile devices in the European operator, which has sold 800 and 710 from Lumia December.

Nokia tries to catch up on previous smartphones failed and damaged their image in the top of the market.

"Nokia has given themselves a double challenge: to regain their credibility when it comes to smartphone hardware and manage the operating system Microsoft Windows, which is in the market," said the executive.

He said Microsoft's software worked very well with computers and can "do many fun things”, but I knew that few customers. "If Lumia with the same hardware comes with Android in there and not Windows, it would be much easier to sell," he said.

Nokia Lumia 800 sold 2 million mobile phones

Nokia Lumia 800 is a Windows operating system Phone, equipped smartphone is the first release on October 26, 2011 at the Nokia World 2011 event. Nokia first used the Windows operating system on this phone. Nokia Lumia 800 shares your design with freedom before the Nokia N9. The external difference is added to a hardware button dedicated camera on the right side of the phone, dual LED flash and moved directly to the Carl Zeiss camera. Nokia Lumia 800 has a different interior to the N9. Nokia Lumia 800 has the Qualcomm chipset. A 1.4GHz processor is powerfully associated with a lot of 16GB of internal storage capacity to allow users to store large amounts of multimedia files. It has convex curve Gorilla Glass AMOLED display with an antiglare filter PenTile ClearBlack. Screen size 3.7 inches (800 x 480 pixels), which includes three capacitive buttons located under the glass.
Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia Lumia 800 device was presented with 710 by Nokia CEO Stephen Elop at the Nokia World conference in London, October 2011. The presentation refers to their devices like cell of the first real Windows'. Nokia Lumia 800 is a great mobile phone that has helped the Finnish manufacturer to achieve high sales figures in the first quarter of 2012. During 2010 and 2011, Nokia's market share fell rapidly as the popularity of platforms like Android and IOS increased. In an attempt to compete with Nokia decided to bite the Symbian operating system they use in all models and produce a wide Lumia new series of Windows-based computers.

Nokia Lumia 800 mobile phone is really very special. One of the main attractions of the device is an excellent Windows operating system you use. Despite the share price of Nokia falls in response to expected losses in the first half of 2012 the phone manufacturer has announced a massive change Nokia Lumia 800 sold 2 million in the first quarter of this year. It seems that Nokia is attracting new interest from mobile phones on the market thanks to the collection of very impressive mobile new devices. What is even more encouraging for Nokia is that these figures do not include the flagship 900 model Lumia, which has only recently launched. One can only hope a second quarter of the year even richer now that the full range of devices available Lumia. The mid-range Nokia Lumia 800 model can take most of the credit for these impressive figures. The attractive model has become a hit with consumers through competitive pricing and some intensive marketing. Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia, said: "In our business unit of intelligent devices, we have established a momentum with Lumia, and we are increasing our investments in Lumia to achieve market success." Nokia Lumia 900 will further boost the appeal of this excellent portfolio of new devices.

Nokia Lumia 900 will be the next king of mobile phone

Nokia announced a new feature phones Nokia Lumia 900, advertised improvement in its investment program, and then a bit of a surprise, presented the pure 808 See, a smartphone with a - not a typo - 41 hours of megapixel camera - this is not a typo, either - Symbian. Windows Phone 7, forcing Microsoft but the telephony platform implementation is that Nokia has been tightened their perspectives.

Nokia has never been an innovator poor. Traditionally, smartphones have been fascinating marvels of ingenuity, packaging, power and functionality, but too often hides everything in the user interface somewhat opaque. The dominant company in the bottom of the wireless spectrum never translated to the ideals of American power smartphone users.

That's why Nokia's commitment to the Microsoft platform for almost a year - which apparently came up with an investment from Microsoft for hardware development of Windows Phone 7 - was a huge risk, but necessary. The competition between all Google mobile phone maker Nokia may have been a short-term advantage, but Nokia has been just one of many. But to become probably the release of Windows Phone 7 manufacturer (with apologies to HTC and Samsung) would give almost all new Nokia to stand alone in the spotlight.

Ultimately, the fate of Windows Phone 7 dictate the wisdom of the decision by Nokia, but now it seems to enjoy the spotlight. Lumia's new 900, which begins shipping in North America on Sunday (for $ 100), is probably the most convincing of Windows Phone 7 smartphones available - although this is largely due to lack of choice.
Make no mistake: The Nokia Lumia 900 is big, fat, fast, smart and - sexy - I would say. But based on my experience of Nokia Lumia 900, not much to it from the Apple iPhone and Samsung, HTC and delivery of the smartphones in the coming months.

If Nokia Lumia 800 has a 3.7 inch screen with resolution 800 x 480, Nokia Lumia 900 has a 4.3 inch AMOLED screen with the same resolution - a resolution which is great, but does not match the iPhone's Retina display. Since the screen is black, the spots are visible, but most of the lock mode of the display, it is not noticeable when a program is used.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is 11mm thin, but many of the phones are narrower (Samsung Galaxy II is less than 9 mm thick). Like the 800, has a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, while many phones have dual core processors (and now many people have quad core processors.) At the same time, run very fast chip enough to run almost any application available on Windows Marketplace (which has many of the graphics intensive games Store Apple applications).

The Nokia 900 Lumia plastic (polycarbonate) If it feels good, solid and credible. The phone comes in black, white and teal. It has an 8 megapixel camera (and video), but unlike the 800, 900 has a front camera (1 megapixel) for video chats. Skype for Windows Phone 7 is still in beta, but Nokia Lumia 900 is supplied with the tango, which is also available on Android and IOS. In other words, the front facing camera to be much more useful and timely, and more powerful for the company as Cisco WebEx meeting or Fuze comes with Windows Phone seventh

The back camera has Carl Zeiss optics, opening af/2.2 and a 28mm wide angle lens. Includes dual LED flash (pretty standard these days) and auto focus, video recording in 720p (HD). Compared to the iPhone, Nokia's production chamber hotter and more accurate, and the colors are more true and clear, but the overall quality is not necessarily a deal maker. Even a 2x zoom begins to destroy the quality of a photograph, especially in poorly lit rooms. However, it is a welcome improvement as compared with other cams smartphone.
One of the key differentiators Nokia Lumia 900 is running on the AT & T 4G LTE - an option only in about 30 cities today. However, HSPA + booking is fine. Performance testing is an unknown sport. The variables that saturation of the network (not many people use AT & T, LTE), time of day, the anomalies of the website (ads change from second to second, for example) makes it almost impossible to test the speed a web browser, talking about the network. Anecdotally - San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and surrounding Los Angeles - the speed was excellent with a lot of pages very fast on some Web sites rich in images. Everything from Netflix Pandora (Pandora Radio Controlled with the Pandora client is not available in Windows Phone 7) worked very well.

Nokia Lumia 900
Nokia Lumia 900 Black

The phone keeps simple basic elements: silver buttons on the side of the volume, screen lock and camera, a micro USB port, headphone jack and a SIM card (available with an accompanying key) is reasonable and readily available. The unit comes with 16 GB of internal storage.

I am a fan of the user interface of Windows Phone 7. (You can read more on our side by side comparison of Apple's iPhone OS, Google Android and Microsoft Phone, Windows 7, which includes some phones, the user experience, enterprise-readiness and status of applications for each platform .) Note that Windows Phone 7 still hampered by the lack of encryption on the device, the only weakness that continues to make the phone an undesirable citizen.
Nokia has worked hard to develop their own programs to the "Collection of Nokia." Traffic, unity, and the maps are interesting. For example, direct users to set alerts when you exceed a certain speed, and work offline. The company announced the reading of Nokia and National Association of Magistrates. Nokia ESPN application (actually a "hub" of Windows Phone 7 as language) is fantastic - much richer than what is available on other platforms. Soon it will allow users to set the teams or individual players to the main screen of live data feed.

Nokia offers a wide range of headsets of alternatives (including the purity of the Monster, which is good), bumper covers and soft covers, and auto accessories.

This makes Nokia, for now, the King of the Hill of Windows Phone 7. This is not a big hill, but it is probably a better place than where Nokia two years ago. If Microsoft is successful with Windows 8, the perseverance of the enterprise telephony platform to pay more. It's a big "if" but a Nokia would do well on fuel. The Nokia Lumia 900 is not a bad start.
